AIMIM contesting alone in Bihar elections, supporting Congress in Telangana
Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM is also contesting in Bihar assembly elections. AIMIM wanted to be a part of the grand alliance of Congress and RJD but it could not happen. In such a situation, AIMIM is alone in the election field and its national president Asaduddin Owaisi is fiercely targeting Congress, RJD and Tejashwi Yadav. However, on the other hand, AIMIM and Congress party have come together in Telangana. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has said that his party will support the Congress candidate in the Jubilee Hills assembly by-election in Telangana.
What did Asaduddin Owaisi say?
By-election for Jubilee Hills assembly seat of Telangana is going to be held on November 11. Asaduddin Owaisi informed on Tuesday that his party will support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in this by-election. Explaining the reason for this decision, Owaisi has said that the result of this election will not bring any profit or loss to the present government and development is possible under the leadership of Naveen Yadav.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said- "Our appeal to the people of Jubilee Hills is that the election results will not change the government. We appeal to the nearly four lakh voters who have supported BRS for the last ten years. Now, I request you to vote for Naveen Yadav, who is young and can bring development to Jubilee Hills." Owaisi further alleged that Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has failed to carry out any development work despite representing the region for the last ten years.
Why are by-elections taking place?
The by-election for Jubilee Hills assembly constituency will be held on November 11. The Election Commission has said that the result of this by-election will be known on November 14 along with the Bihar Assembly elections. The by-election on this seat had become necessary due to the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath due to heart attack in June this year.
