8th Pay Commission: ₹10 Lakhs for Each Employee!
The 8th Pay Commission for Central Government employees has come into effect as of January 1st. While the Dearness Allowance (DA) has already been increased, employee unions are now demanding that the 'fitment factor' be set at 3.833. If approved, the basic salary is set to increase from ₹18,000 to ₹69,000. Additionally, reports suggest that Level-1 employees are expected to receive over ₹10 lakh in the form of arrears. Meanwhile, the 8th Pay Commission has a deadline until May 2027 to submit its final report.
