All Floodwaters Flow into the Sea Due to Lack of Large Reservoirs In Telugu States
Hyderabad: All the flood water coming from the Krishna and Godavari basins to the Telugu states is flowing into the sea. Due to the lack of reservoirs to store the flood water to the maximum extent, the water that comes in has to be released downstream as it comes in. In this water year (June 1, 2025), 2,350 TMC has already entered the sea under Godavari and 726 TMC in Krishna. There are no large reservoirs in the states sharing the Krishna basin. The only large reservoirs shared by the Telugu states are Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam.
