Armed massacre.. 169 people killed
169 people were killed in an attack by armed men in a village in South Sudan. It is believed that the attack was carried out by supporters of opposition leader Riek Machar as part of the civil war. The UN mission revealed that 90 civilians were killed.. Among the dead were children and women. It said that a thousand people had taken refuge with them after the attack. It urged the president and opposition leaders to reach a truce through talks.
