At Gandhi Hospital’s pediatric ward, one has to wait in line for a ventilator!
Addagutta: Although ventilators in the pediatric ward of Gandhi Hospital have been out of order and gathering rust for two years, the hospital administration has failed to address the issue. Consequently, infants and children under the age of seven undergoing treatment there face a situation where they must wait in a queue to access a ventilator during emergencies. The facility is provided to the infants one after another in the order of the queue because only a few of the available units are functional. Despite this, officials are taking no action to have them repaired.
