Big shock for actress who boarded a plane with jasmine flowers
Malayalam actress Navya Nair has been fined Rs 1.14 lakh by Melbourne Airport officials for carrying jasmine flowers in her bag to Australia. Jasmine flowers were found at the airport check-in when she flew to Melbourne to participate in the Onam festival. The fine was imposed on the grounds that it was against biosecurity laws. These laws were enacted because of the possibility of diseases spreading to passengers while transporting fruits, flowers and seeds.
