Chances of rain are low in Delhi, temperatures are above normal.
The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in Kutch and Saurashtra in Gujarat on Monday (September 29). The IMD has issued a red alert for these two areas. An orange alert has been issued for most parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Meanwhile, there is very little chance of rain in Delhi and surrounding areas. The weather will remain clear in Nagpur and surrounding areas. The IMD has predicted clear weather in northern India, including coastal Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh.
The monsoon has begun withdrawing from the country. It has already withdrawn from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. It has also withdrawn from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and parts of Madhya Pradesh. The monsoon is expected to withdraw from the entire country by October 15. After this, cold weather may arrive.
Delhi's Situation
On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 38.1 degrees Celsius, 2.9 degrees above the season's average temperature. The IMD reported that the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius, 4.9 degrees above the season's average. The weather department has predicted clear skies in Delhi on Monday, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) in the capital at 4 pm on Sunday was recorded at 131, which falls in the "moderate" category.
Situation in other states
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for most states in the country, including Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rains are possible in these states, but residents are not expected to face any inconvenience. A yellow alert has been issued for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Sikkim.
How will the weather be in the coming days?
