Declining School Enrollment
Amaravati: Student enrollment is on the decline across schools statewide. This trend is attributed to the falling birth rate observed over the past four years. While the total number of students (Classes 1 to 12) across all school managements stood at 84.37 lakhs in 2025-26, the figure has dropped to 81.75 lakhs this year—a decrease of 2.61 lakh students. A breakdown by management reveals a drop of 2.24 lakh students in private schools and 31,000 in government schools.
