Ensuring Adequate Breast Milk
Some mothers do not produce enough milk for their babies. In such situations, one should include foods like fenugreek, drumstick leaves, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, garlic, garden cress seeds (halim), sesame seeds, oats, barley, ragi (finger millet), lentils, leafy vegetables, nuts, and dried fruits in the diet. Nutritious items—such as garlic sautéed in ghee, garlic juice, cumin water, fenugreek *laddu*, *halim* *payasam* (kheer), sesame *laddu*, ragi malt, drumstick leaf *dal*, moong dal *khichdi*, and *gond* *laddu*—must be consumed after childbirth.
