HDFC Bank Shares Slide...
Mumbai: Benchmark stock market indices traded in the red on Monday. The Sensex, which plunged over 783 points at one stage, eventually settled at 77,708.52, down by 442.93 points. The Nifty lost 95.80 points, slipping to 24,238.50. The primary reason for this decline was heavy selling by investors in the shares of HDFC Bank and Axis Bank following their disappointing quarterly results. Ongoing hostilities between the US and Iran also impacted trading sentiment.
