Himanta to Swear in as Assam CM Tomorrow
Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has appointed Himanta Biswa Sarma—the leader of the BJP and the NDA alliance—as the Chief Minister of Assam. Earlier, after being unanimously elected as the leader of both the BJP Legislative Party and the NDA alliance, Sarma met with the Governor at the Lok Bhawan, presenting a list of MLAs supporting his candidature. On this occasion, the Governor extended an invitation to him to form the government. This marks the third consecutive term that an NDA government is set to assume office in Assam.
