Humpy’s Decision Was Wrong
New Delhi: Kriton Tornaritis, Chief of the Cyprus Chess Federation, has criticized Indian GM Koneru Humpy's decision to withdraw from the prestigious Candidates Chess Tournament. He remarked that this "wrong decision" taken by her was insulting to her fellow players and the tournament organizers. He stated that Humpy's comments, alleging a lack of security in Cyprus, were highly detrimental to the sport of chess. Critto termed her actions a "bad move."
