Manchester: South Africa put the brakes on India, who were riding high after two consecutive World Cup victories. The 'Safaris' defeated Harmanpreet's team by six wickets in the Group 'A' match held on Sunday, driven by a stellar all-round performance from Marizanne Kapp (81 not out, 2/27). Batting first, India posted a score of 158/7 in 20 overs; Shafali Verma (31), Deepti Sharma (29), and Harmanpreet (24) made decent contributions. Kapp and Shabnim claimed two wickets each. In the run chase, South Africa reached 161/4 in 19.1 overs to secure the win.
