Mandatory Online Registration for Foreigners' Visits
The Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) has stated that operators of hotels and homestays providing accommodation to foreign nationals must mandatorily register details of their arrival and departure online within 24 hours. A warning was issued stating that any violation of these regulations would attract a fine ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh, in addition to potential criminal action.
