MLAs Skip TMC Protest
A large number of Trinamool Congress (TMC) party MLAs remained absent from the party's first protest rally organized following its defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections. This has now become a subject of intense debate within political circles. Protesting against the violence that erupted in the state following the elections, as well as the measures taken to evict street vendors, TMC MLAs staged a sit-in on Wednesday near the statue of Ambedkar within the Assembly premises. It is noteworthy that while the TMC has a total of 80 MLAs, only 35 of them participated in this protest.
