Police identified the attacker as Nigel Edge of Oak Island, who has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted first-degree murder, and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon. "We have learned that this suspect describes himself as a veteran. He claims to be a combat veteran," Police Chief Todd Coring said at a press conference on Sunday.
