A shooting and arson attack occurred at a Mormon church in Michigan, USA, on Sunday. One person was killed and nine others were injured. Police said the attacker was also shot dead.
According to police, the shooting occurred at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, 50 miles north of Detroit. The Grand Blanc Township Police Department said in a statement on Facebook, "There was an active shooter at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on McCandlish Road. There are multiple victims, and the shooter has been killed." The statement added, "There is no threat to the public at this time. The church is on fire."
The police department urged people to avoid the area, saying, "The reunion site for those on site is the pavilion located to the north. The off-site reunion will take place at the Trillium Theatre on Holly and McCandlish."
