Putin: Russia-Europe Union Beats US GDP
Moscow: Before the start of peace talks on Russia-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a big challenge to America. Putin said in a statement, "If Russia and European countries combine their efforts, we can become a big economic player from America. He said that if Russia and European countries combine their efforts, their combined GDP will be much higher than that of America. He made this statement on 19 December 2025 during his annual press conference and 'Direct Line' session. This statement of Putin has thrown the dice for creating a new world order. Machna taya hai.
Putin went on to say, "If Russia and Europe come together, our combined GDP will be greater than that of the US. He compared this on the basis of purchasing power parity (PPP). Putin emphasized that we can prosper by combining and complementing capabilities." His statement comes at a time when tensions between Russia and Western countries (especially the European Union) are at their peak due to the Ukraine war. Putin said that Russia is ready to work with Europe, Britain and America on equal terms and this cooperation will benefit everyone.
Does Russia want to join the EU?
This statement of Putin directly challenged the American existence by showing the roadmap of the new world order. Right now, America is in control of Europe. If Europe and Russia are united then obviously America will be isolated and its power will be weak. During this time, Putin was asked by reporters if his signal is to join the European Union. So he said that nowhere did he propose that Russia join the EU. They are only talking about economic cooperation and joint efforts, such as close cooperation in trade, energy or other areas. It is a hypothetical comparison that if this were to happen then the combined economic power would be bigger than America.
Can Europe implement Russia's proposal?
Experts say that it is impossible for Russia to join the EU in the current geopolitical scenario, as Russia has distanced itself from European integration and Ukraine is facing sanctions after the war. Putin also emphasized the strength of the Russian economy in his press conference. He said that Russia's GDP has grown by 9.7% in the last three years, which is much higher than European countries. He called the EU's attempts to use frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine "robbery". His statement seems to be an attempt to send a message to Europe that cooperation can be more beneficial than sanctions and isolation. This statement featured prominently in the Russian media and some international reports, but it is not a new proposal, but part of the old Russian line of better relations with Europe.
