RBI warns against counterfeit notes
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has urged banks to remain highly vigilant regarding the circulation of counterfeit currency notes. It has mandated that bank branches located in districts near international borders install note authentication and sorting machines to detect fake notes. The RBI clarified that currency notes submitted by customers must be verified using these machines to confirm their authenticity before being accepted.
