Red Alert in North Coastal Andhra as Heavy Rains Expected, Fishermen Advised not to Venture into Sea
Visakhapatnam: A low pressure area formed over Myanmar and the adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal on Monday. Due to this, a low pressure area will form over the north Bay of Bengal adjoining north Odisha and West Bengal on Tuesday. The low pressure area has also extended from Myanmar to north Odisha. The low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal has merged with this area. Due to the influence of all this, heavy rains lashed the north coast on Monday due to the strong moisture-laden winds blowing from the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the north coast.
