Ananya Birla, one of the team's co-owners, has now issued a clarification on this matter. It has been clarified that there will be no change to the name of Royal Challengers Bangalore, and the team will continue to operate under the same name going forward. Meanwhile, a consortium comprising Aditya Birla, David Blitzer, and Blackstone is set to take over Royal Challengers Bangalore by the 31st of this month. Furthermore, on the 28th, the team is scheduled to face Hyderabad in the opening match of IPL 2026.
