Rs. 50,000 fine for wearing gold jewelry
In our country, there are people who do not like wearing gold jewelry. But the residents of Kandhar village in the Jaunsar-Bawar region of Uttarakhand have taken a strange decision. To reduce local inequalities, the village elders have decided to impose a fine of Rs. 50,000 for wearing too much jewelry. Women have also agreed to this. They have imposed a rule that only earrings, nose rings and mangalsutra should be worn during auspicious events.
