Rupee Slides Amid Tariff Pressure Could Hit 90 Soon
Mumbai: The value of our currency is rapidly depreciating due to Trump's tariffs. The rupee fell to a new lifetime low against the dollar on Monday. It lost another paise and closed at Rs.88.10. It also registered an all-time intraday low of Rs.88.33. Although the stock markets were in profit, the impact of Trump's 50 percent tariffs on India, uncertainty over a trade deal with the US and increased demand for dollars from importers were the reasons for this.
