Tamil Nadu Burdened with ₹10 Lakh Crore Debt
On the very first day of assuming the reins of Tamil Nadu, CM Vijay lashed out at the previous DMK government. Former CM M.K. Stalin responded just as sharply. In his inaugural address, Vijay stated that the state's financial situation was dire; he alleged that the previous government had not only handed over an empty treasury but had also saddled the state with a debt burden exceeding approximately ₹10 lakh crore. He announced that a white paper on the state's financial condition would be released shortly.
