The only Hindu minister in the Bangladesh cabinet.. Nitai Roy Chowdhury!
Nitai Roy Chowdhury, a member of the Hindu community, has been appointed to the cabinet of the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Tariq Rahman. He has taken charge of the Culture Ministry. Roy, who won a landslide victory from the Magura-2 constituency, is a lawyer by profession. He is one of the BNP vice-chairmen. He was also made a minister in the Hussain Ershad government in 1990. His inclusion in the cabinet has gained significance in the wake of attacks on Hindus.
