Theft in Sector 39 revealed, police engaged in search of organized gang
A retired IAS officer living in the Sector 39 police station area of Noida was robbed of jewelry, cash, and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees by his domestic help, along with his accomplices. Police stated that retired IAS officer Devdutt Sharma, who lives in G-2, Sector 39, under the Sector 39 police station area, had hired a man from Nepal as a domestic help for just two months. The IAS officer was not at home at the time of the incident. He had gone to Lucknow with his wife.
The servant called his accomplices home
At around 1 am on Sunday night, Prakash Bahadur called his accomplices to the officer's home. They arrived in a Maruti car. The thieves broke into lockers and cupboards inside the house and stole jewelry, cash, and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees.
An organized gang is suspected to be involved.
The media officer stated that after receiving information about the incident this morning, a forensic team and police officers arrived at the scene and are investigating. He stated that footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being examined, and a search is underway for the domestic help and her accomplices. Police suspect an organized gang is involved, entering homes disguised as domestic help and committing thefts with the help of their associates.
Theft at IPS Officer's House in Lucknow
Recently, a similar incident was reported from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Thieves broke into the locked residence of an IPS officer. Police announced on Friday that an investigation has been launched. According to police, Yamuna Prasad, a 2012-batch IPS officer currently posted as DCP in Noida. The officer and his family were in Noida while a relative was caring for their house in Vikas Nagar, Lucknow. When caretaker Asit Siddhartha arrived at the house in Sanjay Vihar, Vikas Nagar, on September 22nd, he found the electricity had been cut off.
The thieves had conducted a recce.
According to the FIR, on September 23rd, when electricity department officials arrived to repair the power supply and opened the house, they found the grill of the rear window had been cut and the rooms had been vandalized. Inside, two wall clocks, three wristwatches, some gift items, ₹50,000 in cash, 10 silver coins, silver utensils, 20 taps, and other valuables were found missing. Preliminary police investigations revealed that the thieves had conducted a careful recce and kept an eye on the vacant house.
