Telangana: BRS, which showed some strength in the sarpanch elections, has slumped in the municipal elections. It could not win the mayor's post in any of the 7 corporations. It is noteworthy that in 2020, the party won ten out of ten corporations. It also won the chairman's post in only 18 of the 116 municipalities. Of these, it had an absolute majority in 13 seats, while the Congress and others won the remaining 5 seats in alliance with others.
