Third Vice President from Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu has produced the highest number of Vice Presidents to the country. The newly elected CP Radhakrishnan is the third person from Tamil Nadu to be elected Vice President. Earlier, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1952-62, twice) and Ramaswamy Venkataraman (1984-87) were elected. Meanwhile, Zakir Hussain and Venkaiah Naidu have previously served as Vice Presidents from the united Andhra Pradesh.
