What is the whole matter? US President Donald Trump and his top advisors are preparing to go to South Korea for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit at the end of October this year. Serious discussions are going on for a bilateral meeting with Xi Jinping at this summit, but no concrete plans have been made yet. ANI quoted CNN as saying that on Saturday (local US time), Trump administration officials have been quoted as saying that the US President and his top advisors are preparing for a meeting of trade ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. The summit, to be held in Gyeongju in late October and early November, is seen as a key opportunity for Trump to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Xi invited Trump and his wife to visit China Xi is reported to have invited Trump and his wife to visit China in a phone call last month, and the US president agreed, though no dates have been set. While details are still being finalised, it is unclear whether the president will add other stops to his trip. Officials said the administration is also looking at the trip as an opportunity for the president to seek additional economic investment in the US. "A visit to South Korea is under discussion, which will focus on economic cooperation," a White House official told CNN.
