Up to 30% Ethanol in Petrol Now Permitted
New Delhi: The Central Government has granted permission to blend up to 30% ethanol with petrol. Currently, the permissible limit in India stands at 20%. The Centre's latest decision comes against the backdrop of the ongoing crisis in West Asia, which is having a severe impact on the country's oil imports. In this regard, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued a notification. The regulations pertaining to oil blends designated as E22, E25, E27, and E30 have been detailed therein.
