Bangladesh Attack on Hindus: Violence against Hindus in Bangladesh shows no sign of stopping. Hindus are being targeted and killed, their homes are being burned, but the head of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, remains oblivious. Once again, Hindus have been attacked in Bangladesh. The incident took place in Bahor village of Nandirgaon Union in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet district. Islamic extremists attacked the home of a Hindu family. The extremists set fire to the house of Birendra Kumar Dey. Watch the video A video of the actions of Islamic extremists in Bangladesh has also surfaced. The video shows the fire spreading rapidly throughout the house. Family members are seen trying to escape the burning house to save their lives. The house was completely destroyed by the fire. What is the situation of minorities in Bangladesh? The Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities (HRCBM) has been continuously monitoring the increasing violence against minority communities in Bangladesh. The organization has documented more than 100 deaths in the last 7 months. HRCBM alleges that this violence is not sporadic or isolated incidents, but a nationwide pattern of systematically targeting minorities. According to the report, between June 6, 2025, and January 5, 2026, 116 minorities died across all 8 divisions and at least 45 districts of Bangladesh. These include lynchings, murders, and deaths under suspicious circumstances. This is not local or accidental violence. This is systematically planned violence with a pattern visible across the country. British MP expressed outrage Meanwhile, it is also worth mentioning that recently, British MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Priti Patel, strongly objected to the targeting of Hindus in Bangladesh. Patel had urged the British government to use its influence to work towards bringing stability to Bangladesh, where religious freedom is protected and Hindus are safe.
