Amendments to the Private Higher Educational Institutions Act
Higher Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar issued orders on Monday amending several provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Private Higher Educational Institutions Act to facilitate the establishment of new private educational institutions. The government implemented these changes in response to requests from private college managements seeking relaxations regarding the corpus fund and other regulations. Under the new amendments, a corpus fund of ₹15 lakh is required at the time of establishing a college.
