Meanwhile, senior star Lakshya Sen—a bronze medalist in 2021—and rising talent Unnati Hooda exited the tournament after their campaigns ended in the second round. In Wednesday's match, former champion and 9th seed Sindhu defeated Canadian shuttler Wen Yu Zhang 21-16, 21-17.
