Ban on H-1B Employees in Texas Schools
New York: Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced a ban on hiring foreign employees holding H-1B visas in the state's public schools. Speaking at a campaign event in Austin on Tuesday, he stated that legislation would be introduced with the aim of eliminating H-1B visa holders from the workforce in Texas public schools and reducing foreign influence within the system. He clarified that the ban would apply to both new hires and those currently employed on H-1B visas.
