Hyderabad: Coal India and Saras have secured the contracts for the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects proposed to be established at two locations within the state. These systems are being set up with the specific objective of providing power for a duration of four hours per day. While the Central Government has approved battery energy storage projects with a cumulative capacity of 30,000 MW across the country, plants totaling 1,500 MW have been sanctioned specifically for Telangana.
