BJP Wins 4 Out of 7 Seats in By-Elections
The BJP demonstrated its strength in the by-elections held for seven Assembly seats across five states in the country. [These included seats in] Rahuri and Baramati in Maharashtra; These by-elections were held in Bagalkot and Davanagere South in Karnataka; Umrath in Gujarat; Koridang in Nagaland; and Dharmanagar in Tripura. Of these seven seats, the BJP emerged victorious in four, while the Congress won two others. In Baramati, Maharashtra, Sunetra Pawar—wife of the state's Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar—achieved a resounding victory.
