Hyderabad: Preparations for the immersion of the Khairatabad 'Bada Ganapati' (Grand Ganesha) are proceeding rapidly. Both the festival committee and the police have accelerated their efforts to ensure the immersion is completed by Friday afternoon. The roofing sheets of the shed housing the idol were removed in the early hours of Thursday. After midnight, the *Kalasha Puja* was performed, the idol was moved, final rituals were conducted, and the Ganesha idol was placed onto a large trolley. Officials stated that the immersion would take place between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM without fail.
