China eyes Shaksgam Valley
China has once again declared the Shaksgam Valley region in Jammu and Kashmir as its territory. It has already undertaken road construction in the area. India has condemned China's actions several times. However, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated in a press conference that the Shaksgam region is part of their territory. In 1963, Pakistan illegally ceded 5,180 square kilometers of land to China.
