Declining Coal Production at Singareni Over the Last Two Years
Telangana: Coal production at Singareni has been on a downward trend for the past two years. While a target of 72 metric tonnes was set for the 2025–26 period, actual production was limited to just 58 metric tonnes. This represents a 16% decline compared to the previous year. Similarly, in FY25, against a target of 72 metric tonnes, the company produced only 69 metric tonnes. Heavy rainfall, a decline in market demand for low-grade coal, the company's decision to hike coal prices, and delays in the allocation of new mines are cited as the primary reasons for this drop in production.
