Free for the Wife, Double the Fare for the Husband!
Hyderabad: BRS leader Tanniru Harish Rao has criticized the RTC, alleging that while travel is free for wives, husbands are being charged double the fare. He remarked that the Congress government is burdening the public under the pretext of managing festive-season crowds. Taking to the platform ‘X’, he questioned, “Is this a concession for women, or has the financial burden simply been shifted back onto the same family? Is this what they call ‘people’s governance’ (Praja Palana)?” He pointed out that the ticket fare from JBS, Hyderabad, to Karimnagar has been hiked from Rs. 230 to Rs. 400.
