Free Travel Worth ₹87 Crore
Amaravati: The ‘Stree Shakti’ free bus travel scheme, implemented prestigiously by the state government to boost women's economic empowerment and self-respect, has completed one year. Launched on August 15 last year, the scheme has achieved massive success within just twelve months. So far, women from various sections of society in the state have undertaken a record 87 crore free journeys. On average, 24 lakh people travel by bus for free every day.
