Gary Kirsten is the new coach of Sri Lanka
Former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten has been appointed as the coach of the Sri Lankan cricket team. He will take charge on April 15. Kirsten was the coach when Team India won the 2011 ODI World Cup. He served as South Africa's coach from 2011-13. At that time (2013), South Africa achieved the ICC No. 1 rank in all three formats. Meanwhile, coach Jayasuriya resigned after Sri Lanka lost in the Super-8 stage of the T20 World Cup-2026.
