Gradual decline in unemployment rate
The unemployment rate among people aged 15 years and above who are likely to work is gradually decreasing in the country. According to the Labour Survey data released by the Centre, the unemployment rate was recorded at 5.1% in August. It was 5.2% in July and 5.6% in May and June. In rural areas, this rate has also decreased for the third consecutive month. The rate, which was 5.1% in May, has come down to 4.3% in August.
