Is Drinking Water Alone Enough to Stay Hydrated?
Doctors state that simply drinking water is not sufficient to stay adequately hydrated. They explain that electrolytes—such as sodium and potassium—are also essential; therefore, they recommend consuming foods rich in potassium, magnesium, and natural salts (such as bananas, oranges, spinach, etc.). They also note that drinking a large quantity of water all at once is not effective. Furthermore, they point out that thirst is the *final* indicator that the body has become dehydrated, which is why one should drink water even if one does not feel thirsty.
