Marriage registration of eloping couples to be tightened in Gujarat
Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi has announced that the rules for marriage registration of eloping couples will be tightened. He said that this decision was taken in the wake of allegations of increasing cases of ‘love jihad’. He clarified that ‘Marriage is a sacred ritual in the country. If we deceive our daughters with false names, it will affect the culture. It will lead to the downfall of society. Our aim is to protect the sanctity of marriage.’
