It also provides for the allocation of development expenditure for the Eastern Nagaland region to its population and area. The agreement reflects the commitment of the Indian government to resolve all the contentious issues to fulfil the genuine aspirations of the people of the Northeast.
A solution can only be found through dialogue based on mutual respect and dialogue. It reaffirms the fundamental principle of democracy, not through violence and armed conflict.
The agreement provides for the formation of a mini-secretariat for the FNTA headed by an Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary.
