The Union Public Service Commission has issued the notification for the NDA and NA (I) examination for 2026. This is a golden opportunity for the youth to apply for 394 officer posts in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the National Defence Academy, Naval Academy Examination (NDA & NA) I, 2026. This is a golden opportunity for the youth of the country who dream of serving the country as an officer in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force to apply. This time, the UPSC has announced a total of 394 posts, in which both male and female candidates will be selected. In this, the 157th course of the NDA will be selected in the Army, Navy and Air Force departments, while the youth will get a chance for the 119th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). To apply for this exam, candidates must have certain educational qualifications. To apply for the NDA Army section, candidates must have passed Class 12 from any recognized board. At the same time, to apply for the NDA Navy and Air Force sections, students must be science students. That is, the candidate must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects in Class 12. The same rule applies to the Indian Naval Academy 10+2 Cadet Scheme. Students studying in Class 12 can also apply for this exam. However, they will have to submit proof of passing Class 12 by December 10, 2026. Vacancy Details: Talking about the vacancies, this time there are a total of 208 posts in the Army section in NDA, out of which 198 posts are reserved for men and 10 posts are reserved for women. There are 42 posts for the Navy section, out of which 37 male and 5 female candidates will be selected. There are 92 posts available in the flying branch of the Air Force, out of which 90 male and two female candidates will be selected. Along with this, there are 18 posts in the Air Force Ground Duty Technical and 10 posts in the Non-Technical. At the same time, candidates will be recruited for a total of 24 posts for the Naval Academy 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme, out of which 21 male and three female candidates will be taken. In total, 370 male and 24 female candidates, a total of 394 candidates, will get a good chance through this exam. Application Fee: As for the NDA exam application fee, male candidates belonging to the general and OBC categories have to pay Rs. 100. However, SC, ST, all female candidates and JCO/NCO/OR dependent candidates do not have to pay any fee. That is, candidates belonging to these categories can fill the form completely free of cost. These arrangements have been made with the aim of providing financial relief to the youth. How much is the salary? Talking about salary and benefits, NDA cadets are paid Rs 56,100 per month during training. The same amount is paid after being commissioned as a Lieutenant, Flying Officer or Sub-Lieutenant. Along with this, all officers also get a Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs 15,500 per month. Along with this, military officers get famine allowance, uniform allowance, transport allowance, field allowance and many other benefits.
