New Cars for MLAs
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay announced that every MLA in the state would be provided with a government vehicle. Additionally, a monthly allowance of ₹75,000 will be granted for vehicle maintenance and fuel costs, along with ₹25,000 per month for an MLA's assistant. Speaking in the Assembly on Wednesday, the CM noted that many candidates without significant muscle or financial power had won the recent elections; he expressed his agreement with a suggestion made by Congress Lok Sabha member Jothimani to provide vehicles to all such MLAs.
