No Arrests Under GST
New Delhi: State Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav urged the GST Council to remove arrest provisions from the GST Act and to halt the harassment of traders. He attended the 57th GST Council meeting held on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, presided over by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Payyavula strongly urged the Council to immediately withdraw the arrest powers vested in officials under Section 69 of the GST Act.
