The Central Government has clarified that Indian vessels are not required to obtain permissions or pay fees to Iran while transiting through the Strait of Hormuz. Rajesh Kumar, Special Secretary to the Ministry of Shipping, stated that any delays in the arrival of vessels are solely due to the narrowness of the shipping lane. "Two vessels carrying 92,000 tonnes of gas have already departed from the region. Another 20 vessels are currently located in the Persian Gulf; among these, five are LPG carriers and four are crude oil tankers," he added.
