No need for a tribunal for the Godavari!
Hyderabad: The Union Ministry of Jal Shakti has stated that a tribunal is not required for Godavari river water issues. It has asked Andhra Pradesh to reconsider its request for the constitution of such a tribunal. With a high-level committee already appointed for Tungabhadra basin issues and consultations currently underway regarding the Godavari and Krishna basins, Union Jal Shakti Minister Patil reportedly advised AP to rethink its demand for a tribunal at this juncture.
